Formed in September 2002, the Mavron Quartet is Wales' leading string quartet. Since 2005, The Mavron Quartet has enjoyed a residency at The Gate Arts Centre, Cardiff and in 2012 was appointed the first Ensemble in Residence at the National Concert Hall of Wales, St David's Hall, Cardiff.
The programme for the evening will be as follows:
Glass: String Quartet No.3 ‘Mishma’

Currently, the Mavron Quartet is publicised in the Concert Promoter's Group 2012-13 season brochure, resulting in wider reaching recitals across the UK. In 2012, the Quartet will be Young Artists in Residence at the Vale of Glamorgan Festival which will include performances of Glass String Quartets in celebration of his seventy fifth birthday.
As well as its public performances, the Quartet has appeared at the Senedd, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the private London residence of the American Ambassador to the UK, Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace. Guests at these performance have included HM The Queen, HRH The Prince of Wales, current and former Prime Ministers, and Welsh Ministers.
